Extract from Travelling book: "Arrived in Milano yesterday. I didnt have much time to write about it whilst I was there so this is coming to you whilst I'm sitting on a train to Ventimiglia.
Milan was big, frantic and loud. The train station Centralz is the most amazing train station I have ever seen! It's huge and historic.
The city itself is nice, but nice in a busy way. You have to be suicidal to cross the road - as we saw one guy just run into three lanes of traffic expecting them to stop; which they did as it was on a green man however if nobody is crossing they go regardless.
The Hostel California as it was called was pretty cool too. Shared with 6 others, it was how you imagine. Quite studenty really.
See you in Nice...
Arrivederci! "

Travelling Photos - Venice
Extract from travelling book: "We made it to Venice / Venezia. We got a boat from Piazza Roma to San Marco Square and met with Dan 'I'm from Wigan' Jones there. It was fun walking up to him with him having no idea I was stood next to him, waiting for around 15 seconds before saying "Nice view that isnt it" Dan replied in a shocked "Bloody ell, scared shit out of me then!".
We wandered through the partly flooded streets for a while following Dan to the main canal. Once we got there we stopped for a drink and pizza wrap which was lovely. We wandered some more after that (with our heavy bags!) and stopped by a few pubs - and so it went...
We also met some of Dans crew mates which was nice, more drinks followed...
Dan had to leave at around 4 so our meeting was short lived, but a good one."

Final post from me from England
Howdy partner.
Today has been a good day. Got my final paycheck from work, and they were particually generous to me so I've got more spending money $$$ for our travel to Europe next week. Woop. Also I have just spent a couple of days at home to see my mum, my two beaut cats and my cheeky hamster. I like going home, I always get spoilt, well fed and it's always warm and cosy. I wish I could've stayed for abit longer but I had to come back to Manchester so I could get ready and pack my bag and such.
Also it has been a good day because I finally got the link to my dissertation which I learnt a few months ago that it would be published :-D So henceforth shameless multiple efforts to promote, starting here and now:-
Lastly, I'm switching phones when we go traveling. I'm going back to my old Sony Ericsson Cyber-shot phone because it's got a much better camera so I've just transfered a few old photos from my current phone so I don't somehow loose them. Here are a few of the best ones:-
My hamster Teddy |
A bolt of lightening I captured by chance |
Oklahoma - a nice cafe in Manchester. I recommed the chocolate & banana milkshake, the oreo milkshake and the lemonade |
I'll leave you with an image of what me and Stephen are going to look like the next month (on a train):-
Thats all from me!

I checked out some of the photographs and this is my favourtite:-
It's a hermit crab using a broken neck and cap of a bottle as a makeshift shell! Wish I could do that! Funny little thing.

The Quiet Before the Storm
All is ticking by and fairly quiet on the home front. Over the past few, and next few days we have been/ are going through websites trying to find info on cheap flights to Venice (the start place for our inter- railing), info on hotels, and info on inter-railing in general!
But for now, I will leave you with this:

I'd like to start this post my saying "Wow don't you look great tonight?" and "You know how I've always thought of you as a special friend". Now, compliments over with I think it's time you did a little something for me, don't you?
Click here on this text your reading right now and VOTE FOR US to head off on a round the world trip of a lifetime! It's called Get Rid Of Me and sends two adventurous people around the world, sending video blogs about our travels along the way.
It would be an amazing experiance, and I would love for whoever may be reading this to do your one good deed for today... click the button, the one that says VOTE.
Thanks sweet cheeks.
Oh and on a slightly different note, I was extremely happy to see that Joaquin Phoenix finally made a return to the big screen in the form of this documentary. Following his retirement from acting to becoming a rapper. I have to say, it looks riveting. Check the trailer here...

Dreams of a Motorhome
Dreams of a motorhome is a pretty good title to this post I think, very suiting indeed actually. As lately we visited a fairly remote part of the countryside - Holmes Chapel.
So we hopped on the train from Manchester, munched on some breakfast consisting of a yogurt drink which myself and Hayley both remarked "It tastes just like yogurt!" egg sandwich (which was really nice) and a pastry chocolate roll - that was lovely too. Anyway, where was I? Oh yes, so around 40 minutes later we was here, in Holmes Chapel;
As you can see, we had a fair bit to walk from the station (point A) to Spinney Motorhomes (point B) but luckily for us it was a sunny, fairly warm day... for now.
So about 30 minutes into the walk, we had crossed the river, saw some cows and got a little scared after seeing numerous road signs saying "4 deaths in 3 years", "79 casualties in 3 years" and "45 collisions in 3 years". We came to the conclusion that the stats aren't that bad, and to put those signs up and keep them updated every year is a waste of money. Anyway, 30 minutes into the walk and we felt we should have past the motorhome place by now, so we backtracked slightly thinking that maybe we had past it whilst being transfixed on a dead duck at the side of the road or something of that nature. But it turns out we didn't, after a lot of messing with the RUBBISH Google maps, we rang the actual place, which then gave us a clear understanding that in actual fact, we hadn't walked far enough.
We ARRIVED, trotted in on our feet, and enjoyed the rest of the day looking through the old and new motorhomes, it was actually a really good experience and good way to start our first stage of ULTIMATE freedom. That would be to buy one and live the dream.
Speaking of dreams, I dreamt of motorhomes that night - and what a wonderful dream it was :D

Clandidno, Canadians and Kidders
Well well well, look who it is... come back to be nosy have we?
It's OK, don't worry I'm only joking (or 'kidding' for all those Yanks). Although I suppose if you came here being from a country that may find it hard to understand accents, you might have some problems with future
posts. This is due to the fact myself and Hayley are from 'up North'. Thats England too for all you Canadian haters (I'm rambling, I know).
So lets get down to it; We went to Wales,Clandidno Llandudno to be exact. It was wonderful, really really lovely beltin' stuff ('beltin' - this is a word from a town called Wigan, it means good, a similar word used with equal umph at times is 'smashing').
So went to Llandudno, I think Hayley did a superb job at explaining most of the day so I am going to finish up with some photos I took from my phone camerawhich is far better than Hayley's phone...

What I've been doing
Hello y'all.
So I haven't really been doing much worth talking about recently, just alot of working. Although my day was brightened up on Friday thursdsy? when I received my first ever passport! So now the travelling part of 'Hayste's travels' can actually happen!
Up until then however, yesterday we amused ourselves by going on a day trip to the quaint Welsh town of Llandudno. The weather was good, the sun was in the sky and shining brightly. Brightly enough to give Stephen a little red face. So, when we arrived, we immediatly took to the cliffs, scrambling all the way to the top to get some good views. And they were good. I took some pictures but they really don't do it justice, especially since my phone camera is awful (LG viewty, eurgh), but here goes:-
Stephen and his hat |
After wandering around on the cliffs and admiring the views and good Welsh air, we found ourselves a copper mine that was apparently 4,000 years old. After watching and laughing at the people wearing their hard hats, we decided to join in the fun, get ourselves a hard hat (mine was red, Stephens was yellow) and go look in the mines to see what all the fuss was about.
The Mine |
We were able to actually go into the mines which was good, as far as 60 feet down I think. It was pretty good, could see all the tiny tunnels that workers used to go down and the conditions that they worked in. Pretty brave if you ask me, I'd get way too chlaustraphobic. We also treated ourselves to some goodies at the gift shop. I think thats the first time I've been in a mine, and I liked it. It made me think of that horror film 'The Descent', although thats just my overactive imagination for you. No monsters attacked us...this time.
Afterwards came more cliff scrambling and hiking, we went upto the summit and had a sit down and took some panaramic photographs.
And here are pictures of us having a jolly good time:-
So we made our way back into town with a little help from some handy 'to town' signposts and got some well deserved icecreams. Mars icecream = yummmmm. We wandered around the shops for a while, I purchased some books (Dean Koontz - Fear nothing, P.J. Parrish - Dead of winter and Jack Kerley - The death collector) and then we tried to find somewhere to eat.
We struggled trying to find somewhere which is probably just due to us being stupid, but eventually we found a nice little hotel restaurant thingy (can't remember the name) where we had some food. I had a baked potato with tuna and sweetcorn and a Morgans Spiced Rum and lemonade. It was delish. We ate outside and watched the people and motorhomes pass by.
After this we bought some Co-op cider and sat on the pebbly beach, exactly a stones throw away from the sea, drank our cider, ate some sweets and watched a dog surf.
Stephen on the quest to find the perfect pebble |
We got our train just in time, came back to my flat and finished a perfect day off perfectly with pizza and bed. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my first time out of England.
Thats all folks!
Hayley X
