I think its about time I was a best selling author.

First i must write a book. I always get inspired to write stories, I guess my reason excuse for not doing so is that I haven't found the right idea yet. In the meantime I try to read alot to get ideas.

I spent most of my teenage years deep in Stephen Kings books. I also have read most of Laurell K Hamilton's Anita Blake series. These are a ghoulish group of gruesome books (ha) about a vampire slayer who gets in a tangled love triangle between a warewolf and a vampire. It's happened to the best of us. These were good books, although got increasingly erotic as the series went on. I think thats why i stopped reading them. I prefer blood and guts.

Ok, anyway so I've slightly moved away from horror and read more crime and thriller books. So many deserve a mention and wish I could remember them all but annoyingly I never really pay attention to the title or author of books I'm reading or have read. I dunno why. Anyway after some thinking, I remember the latest book I read is by T.J.Middleton entitled Cliffhanger. Good book, love the cover design and it was a funny, light hearted read.

One that sticks in my mind is called One by Conrad Williams. Brilliant book, based on the idea of what would happen if existence on Earth got nearly entirely wiped out. Huge idea, very similar to Stephen Kings The Stand. Both brilliant books. Although not an entirely original idea, the idea of 'an empty planet' can be written from so many angles and viewpoints that I think its an idea that won't ever grow old and I would love to write my own interpretation of it.

Another book, of which deserves a mention is Island by Richard Laymon, about people getting shipwrecked and stranded on an island with a 'maniac on the loose'. Love love loved reading this book, and as with a couple other of his books that I have read, I couldnt put it down and read it in a week.

Anyway, these are just a few that I can remember. Bedtime now.
